    Dr. Miguel “Mickey” Quiñones is University Professor of Management at the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business. An internationally recognized scholar in individual and organizational development, leadership, and the strategic management of human capital, he teaches and writes about leadership, teams, organizational change, and the future of work.

    From 2019 to 2026, Dr. Quiñones served as Dean of the Robins School of Business. During his tenure, the school strengthened its reputation as one of the nation’s leading undergraduate business schools and was recognized by Poets&Quants as one of the “Top 10 Business Schools to Watch” in 2024. Under his leadership, the school launched major initiatives including the Spider Business Hub, Endeavor RSB, the Master of Science in Management program, and new opportunities for students to engage with businesses, alumni, and community partners.

    Dr. Quiñones received a B.S. in psychology from Texas A&M University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology from Michigan State University. Prior to joining the University of Richmond, he served on the faculties of Southern Methodist University, the University of Arizona, and Rice University. He was also a U.S. Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile, and has held visiting appointments at Singapore Management University and IE Business School in Madrid.

    An award-winning teacher, Dr. Quiñones has designed and delivered leadership and executive development programs for numerous organizations. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

    Outside of work, Dr. Quiñones enjoys endurance sports, travel, and outdoor adventure. He has completed numerous marathons and triathlons, including Ironman Texas, and has cycled more than 600 miles across New York State from Niagara Falls to Manhattan. He has also completed the Tour du Mont Blanc and enjoys hiking, cycling, and exploring the outdoors with his family.
