Admissions

The Richard S. Reynolds Graduate School of Business' student body is comprised of high-potential individuals from leading employers in central Virginia. Our program is designed for working professionals who benefit from being able to take what they learn during evening courses and apply it to their professional career the following day.

Applicants are encouraged to complete their application packet as soon as possible. All admitted students will be invited to participate in Professional Development and Networking events immediately after receipt of their enrollment deposit.

MBA classes are offered in the evenings (Monday - Thursday) at 6:15 p.m.

  • Work Experience

    Because The Richmond MBA is designed for working professionals, all applicants are expected to have at least two years of professional work experience after completion of their bachelor’s degree before applying, with the exception of JD/MBA applicants.

  • Application Fee

    There is no application fee for the 2024 application cycle.

  • Undergraduate Degree & Transcripts

    Applicants must hold a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university and meet current undergraduate grade point average (GPA) standards. In recent years, the average GPA for incoming students has been approximately 3.1. Unofficial transcripts of all college and university work attempted from each college and university attended are required for admission.

    An applicant whose prior experience in higher education includes work taken at a non-United States college or university will be required to have the academic record evaluated by an independent credential evaluation service. In addition, non-United States citizens are required to submit additional documents to meet Immigration and Naturalization Service requests. Such students should contact the director at least six months before the application deadline to discuss application requirements.

    GMAT or GRE scores are not required for admission.

    A current resume is required and should be submitted with the application.

    In approximately one page, please describe your interest and motivation for pursuing this degree. How has your academic and/or professional background prepared you for this program? How does this degree fit into your career goals?

  • Interview

    After you have talked with us or attended an information session, and your application materials are in, we will reach out to schedule an admissions interview with Amy McCracken, Associate Dean of Graduate and Executive Programs for the Robins School of Business. Interviews are expected to be conducted in person at our offices whenever possible.

  • Windows Requirement

    Some of your courses rely on commercially available software. We will use the Windows version of those tools (some only are available for Windows) in those courses. As a result, you will need to have access to a computer that is configured to run the Windows operating system during the program. Should you choose to use a Mac, you will need to configure it to run Windows using a program such as Bootcamp. Please note that newer models of the Mac may not have this capability.
